A color based on the secret passage on the Kernhem estate
On the Kernhem estate in the heart of the Veluwe, a small passageway could be found in the woods surrounding the estate in the 1990s. It was a turquoise-colored door with rusted iron. Many stories have circulated about the passage's purpose over the years, but in recent years, it has been home only to bats. The passageway is now no longer visible, and it is one of the many treasures the Veluwe holds.
Some general information about a skein of Veluwsch Verfgoed Sock:
- One skein contains 400 meters of yarn
- The yarn is made of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon
- Ideal for making socks, for example, but this superwash yarn is actually suitable for all kinds of knitting and crocheting.
- Gauge is 28 stitches x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm
- Suitable for knitting needles/crochet hooks 2.5mm - 4.0mm
- This yarn is hand-dyed. This makes each skein unique and slightly different in color. The colors and skeins shown are therefore indicative and may vary slightly in reality due to screen distortions. - After fixation, the yarn is hand-washed with a high-quality wool detergent. You can expect the yarn to hardly bleed when it comes into contact with water. However, with dark or bright colors, some colored water may still appear. Don't worry about this.
- The washing instructions for this yarn type are a maximum of 30°C on a wool wash cycle in the machine. Never tumble dry or wash products made with this yarn in hotter water to prevent felting. Never use fabric softener, but always choose a wool detergent.
- The yarn is super soft and provides perfect stitch definition with a beautiful sheen.
- Skeins dyed with multiple colors create a mottled effect when used, while skeins dyed in semi-solid colors create a relatively even gradient. It's always possible that even in a semi-solid color, a hint of white can appear. This is sometimes unavoidable during manual dyeing. However, in practice, it's usually not a problem. Each skein is hand-wound and labeled. Therefore, not every skein may look "perfect." However, this is a conscious choice and simply indicates that your skein has been crafted with love and care.
