Have your yarns been produced with care?
Yes, our yarns are made with the assurance that sheep have a good life—and are also sheared according to sound principles. Our wool is therefore mulesing-free, and the sheep are treated ethically.
Are your dyes plant based?
No, unfortunately, we dye with synthetic dyes. It wouldn't be possible to achieve the most beautiful and deep colors in our wool if we used only vegetable dyes.
However, we can guarantee that our yarns are properly fixed, which means dye bleeding is virtually nonexistent, so you don't have to worry about color mixing.
Are your hanks really hand-dyed?
Absolutely! Dyeing our yarns is a completely hand-crafted process. We mix and blend the color recipes, dye and fix the yarn, hand-wash the wool with wool detergent, and even hand-skein and label it.
This results in an honest and beautiful product that may not always be as smooth as a machine-made ball, but carries so much more love within.
Are your yarns to use for multiple causes?
Yes and no, of course all our yarns can be used for various projects and purposes. However, it's important to carefully read the dos and don'ts for each product. For example, it's not advisable to use our Aade yarns for making socks, but they are perfect for other garments. All the necessary information can be found on the product page.
I need more skeins of yarn then the estimated stock. What to do?
We dye our skeins in batches of a specific number of skeins to ensure the correct recipe matches the desired color. This ensures that new dye lots vary minimally from previous ones.
If you're out of stock and need more, please contact us. We're happy to dye additional skeins or larger quantities at once upon request.
Are skeins which are temporarely out of stock re-stocked and how fast is this happening?
Of course, it can happen that an item—especially a hand-dyed yarn—is temporarily out of stock. As soon as this happens, we'll dye a new batch and it will be back in stock within a few days. This applies to our standard range; special edition dye jobs may be temporary and will not recur. These are considered limited editions and will be noted in the product or product line description.
How are your yarns stored?
We store all our yarns in sealed plastic containers, which are infused with natural, essential oils to repel insects.
Where is my order shipped?
Veluwsch Verfgoed is located in the heart of the Veluwe National Park. We live in the heart of this beautiful nature reserve, and we ship all our orders from here. Your order will therefore be shipped from the Netherlands.
Can I pick up my order?
No, unfortunately, we don't have a physical store, so it's not possible to pick up an order.
What payment options are there?
We offer various payment options, including iDEAL, PayPal, Mastercard, and VISA. For the latest payment options, please always check your shopping cart to see which options are available to you. Therefore, not every payment option may be available in every country.
What is the estimated delivery time?
This is difficult to say, as it largely depends on your chosen delivery option and where you live.
We aim to ship your order within two business days. Within the Netherlands, most services deliver within 48 hours. However, outside the Netherlands, this can take considerably longer, depending on whether a package needs to clear customs. Within Europe, you can expect a delivery time of approximately 7-10 business days. Outside Europe, you should allow for a delivery time of 10-21 business days.
How much are the shipping costs?
This also depends on where you live, which shipping company you choose, and the size of your order.
For a good indication, we recommend following the checkout process to see the different options and their potential costs. All shipping costs shown are based on the most accurate costs determined by the shipping companies.
We also strive to keep shipping costs as low as possible by packaging efficiently. Therefore, orders may be sealed to create a letterbox-sized package, which can save money on larger packages.

Who is Veluwsch Verfgoed?
Veluwsch Verfgoed is part of The Guy with the Hook. Behind this name is Mark, a well-known pattern designer in the crochet (and sometimes knitting) world. Veluwsch Verfgoed is an extension of his design and offers various other products that Mark (with the help of his family) makes by hand.
Are patterns from the Guy with the Hook for purchase here as well?
No, the pattern work for the Guy with the Hook is an exclusive component and is not offered for sale here – partly to avoid confusion. For several years, people have been accustomed to the pattern being available through Mark's Etsy and Ravelry stores, so we've decided to keep it that way.
It's possible that a special offer or a combination product includes a free pattern, which can be downloaded immediately after purchase from this store. You'll receive an email about this and won't need to find a pattern through Etsy or Ravelry. However, this will always be clearly explained in the product itself.
Where to find Veluwsch Verfgoed physically?
Veluwsch Verfgoed is an exclusively online business with no physical storefront. We work from a closed studio at home. However, we do frequently participate in various craft fairs in the Netherlands. These are generally the Breidagen (Breeding Days) and/or the craft fair in Houten. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to our social media channels, our newsletter, or the website.
What is the story behind Veluwsch Verfgoed?
The vision behind this shop is to showcase the beauty of where we live through our products. The Veluwe is a rich woodland area teeming with flora and fauna, as well as diverse myths, people, and places. We use these as inspiration to add color to our work and tell stories the general public may not yet know.
What is TGWTH & Aade?
The letters TGWTH, of course, stand for The Guy with the Hook. For some time, we'd wanted to link our own yarn line to the work of the Guy with the Hook. This led to the idea of collaborating with a small wool mill in Estonia, which Mark has been in contact with for years and has visited regularly. And so, the best of both worlds was born: a beautiful 100% wool yarn that couldn't be more pure.
