PPWR legislation and packaging
Since August 12, 2026, new European legislation called PPWR has been in force. The aim of this law is to limit packaging and space in shipped packages and to ensure that materials are recycled in every country – a worthy cause in itself. We at Veluwsch Verfgoed try to give packaging materials, both paper and plastic, a second life. Additionally, we try to pack orders in a space-saving manner to support this law as well.
Unfortunately, this new legislation also means that, as a webshop and product manufacturer, we must comply with various new laws. These regulations entail very high costs if you wish to continue shipping throughout Europe. As a small sole proprietorship, we cannot bear this burden, which has led us to refine our shipping policy. For now, we ship only to countries where it is legally clear that this will not cause problems, such as financial penalties or the detention of packages by government agencies. Because the legislation is still very unclear and there will be much discussion within the European Union in the near future, we are following this matter closely. Therefore, should changes or opportunities arise, we will certainly take advantage of them. See our current shipping policy below.
