Impasto socks kit

In this kit, you will find the supplies needed to make the Impasto Socks.

- The kit contains a pattern booklet in the language of your choice - and 2 skeins of Veluwsch Verfgoed Sock. You choose 2 skeins in a color yourself and indicate this in the comments of your order. We will then add these to this kit.

The booklet has the following conditions:

- A5 size
- printed on FSC-certified paper
- 160 gram paper thickness
- available in both Dutch and English (US terminology)

For this pattern, it is recommended to use only sock yarn. The examples of the socks were made with:

blue-yellow version: Veluwsch Verfgoed Starry Starry & Starry Night over the Rhone
green-blue/rust color version: Veluwsch Verfgoed Cyprus & Vincent self-portrait

Yarns: Any sock yarn is suitable for a crocheted sock, whether it is hand-dyed or just a standard ball from the factory. You have the right yarn thickness as long as the sock yarn has a ratio of approximately 400-420 meters per 100 grams. Also, always choose a yarn with a small percentage of nylon to make the sock more durable. Most sock yarns already contain this. For this sock, you need to use a slightly thinner sock wool. So, do not choose a material with less than 400 meters per 100 grams.
The required amount of yarn also depends mainly on your shoe size. You always need more yarn for crocheted socks than for knitted socks. A good guideline is that you need one and a half times as much yarn for a crocheted sock as for a knitted sock. However, tests show that for this pattern up to shoe size 40, you need approximately 100 grams of sock yarn. For every size above that, you need about 110-150 grams of sock yarn. It also depends on the length of the leg and toe sections you choose. For this sock, we use two colors of sock yarn. You can also make the pattern in one color; use the quantities mentioned above for that. If you choose two colors, you need one 100-gram skein of each color for all sizes. In both examples, I used Veluwsch Verfgoed Sock in 100-gram skeins with a length of 400 meters.

Crochet hooks required:

For the sock pattern, you need a 2.5 mm crochet hook for the cuff. For the rest of the sock, you use a 4.5 mm and 5.0 mm crochet hook.
