Eärendil kit

In this kit, you will find all the supplies needed to make the smaller version of the Eärendil mandala. Only the ring is not included in this kit. The kit contains the pattern booklet and a ball of TGWTH & AADE yarn. Choose the color you would like to crochet the mandala in and provide this in the comments during the ordering process. We will then add it automatically. Of course, this is only possible if a color is in stock.

Printed pattern booklet for the knitting pattern by The Guy with the Hook called; Eärendil

The booklet has the following conditions:

- A5 size
- printed on FSC-certified paper
- 160 gram paper thickness

This pattern is made with one ball of TGWTH & Aade, or for a larger version, 2 balls of the same brand, crocheted double-stranded.

Eärendil, the greatest star of the Elves, shines the brightest white light upon you. A well-known story in Tolkien's world, and also known from films, is that light captured in a crystal holder can dispel darkness. Even if you do not particularly appreciate Tolkien's stories, the tale of the Sailor Eärendil, who eventually becomes the greatest star with the brightest light, is a fascinating story to discover. I have tried to capture that light, the star shapes, and the refined art of the Elves in this doily.

General information about the pattern:

Materials:

This pattern is made with TGWTH & AADE (Aade Long). For the smaller version, I used one ball of thin gradient yarn in the color Hayfield. The larger version is made with thin yarn in the color Snowwhite, crocheted double-stranded. This pattern works with all types of yarn. Generally, you will need approximately 400 meters of yarn. For the double yarn version, you will need 2 balls of 400 meters.

Crochet hook required:

I recommend a 3.5 mm crochet hook for the thin yarn and a 5.0 mm crochet hook for the double yarn version.

Dimensions: The diameter of the finished piece is 50 cm for the thin yarn version. The double yarn version has a diameter of 60 cm.

You can use a ring to crochet the project into. Make the pattern first and then determine the correct ring size.

-Due to the complexity of this pattern, there is NO chart or video available.

-I have drawn the stitches used in the photos in this pattern. I always use the standard crochet stitch symbols for the Netherlands and the US.
